180g Vinyl

180g (heavyweight) vinyl is a thicker, heavier record than the usual 120 to 140g. It's stiffer, less likely to warp and sits flat on the platter. Weight alone doesn't make a record sound better, as the mastering and pressing matter most, but 180g pressings are usually carefully made audiophile releases.
