Description

Triple bill of horrors directed by John Krasinski and Michael Sarnoski. 'A Quiet Place' (2018) follows a family living in total silence in a bid to stay one step ahead of an unseen threat which hunts by sound. With his wife Evelyn (Emily Blunt) pregnant, defiant father Lee Abbott (Krasinski) is forced to go to extreme lengths to keep her and their children Marcus (Noah Jupe) and Regan (Millicent Simmonds) safe from the mysterious and deadly creatures which stalk their every move.

In the sequel, 'A Quiet Place: Part II' (2020), having previously attempted to live with a semblance of normality at their safe house in the countryside, the Abbott family now have no option but to set out into unchartered and dangerous territory. While remaining vigilant for the constant threat of summoning the terrifying creatures that have wiped out most of the population, they are soon confronted with the realisation that the real threat lies with other human beings. Finally, in 'A Quiet Place: Day One' (2024), Sam (Lupita Nyong'o) is diagnosed with terminal cancer and is living at a hospice facility with her cat, Frodo.

She reluctantly agrees to join a group of patients on an outing into New York City but when aliens arrive on Earth and begin laying waste to humanity, she is caught in the apocalyptic chaos. It quickly becomes apparent that the aliens cannot see but have excellent hearing and the only way to survive is to stay silent. As the military prepares to evacuate survivors, Sam meets Eric (Joseph Quinn), a law student from England, and together they attempt to navigate this dangerous new world.
