Chimera - Holy Grail (Red Vinyl) (Vinyl)

Late 1960s folk female folk duo from the UK. Francesca Garnett (now Posney) and Lisa Bankoff were two cousins schoolgirls very active in "Swinging London". In 1967 they made a demo that the nascent Apple Records not issued for the veto of George Harrison. In 1969 the Pink Floyd's drummer Nick Mason became their manager and in July despatched them to Ron Geesin to cut some demos. For a while, the girls, now calling themselves Chimera, became part of Floyd's extended family. The duo also signed a contract with Monty Babson’s Morgan Blue Town label and recorded demos in the Morgan Music Studio, but nothing got released due to failures of the record label.

The band’s sole album's worth, recorded between 1967 and 1970, did not appear until 2002 when Tenth Planet Records released a ten track LP, which Wooden Hill Records followed in 2004 with a 19 track CD, both eponymously titled.

The Morgan Blue Town 2017 LP has a track listing identical to the 2002 release. The 21 track CD features extra material, e.g. two previously unreleased tracks that were found when the master tapes, long assumed lost, were located in the Morgan Music vaults.
