Glenn Ford and Broderick Crawford star in this film noir directed by Henry Levin. Joe Hufford (Ford) is in prison for manslaughter. When he witnesses the murder of another prisoner, he refuses to share what he knows, unwilling to break the code of silence among inmates.
Though suspected of the crime and threatened with execution, he remains silent, despite having the support of the warden, George Knowland (Crawford). Will the truth come out before it's too late?
