Description
All three episodes from the British historical documentary miniseries centred on Queen Elizabeth I and the assassination plots against her. Having been deemed a threat to the progression of Catholicism, the Pope reportedly gave orders for her to be killed by his own secret assassins. When Elizabeth became wise to the plots against her, she gathered a small team of spies known as the Cecils, hired to protect her place on the throne by unravelling the rumoured threats against her life and infiltrating the Catholic opposition.
