Gene Tuskin (Louise Fletcher) believes that her memories are repressed rather than lost. Meanwhile, Father Philip Lamont (Richard Burton), a man struggling with his faith after an exorcism he was attempting went tragically wrong, is sent to investigate the circumstances of Regan's exorcism years before.
