Description
Oliver Reed, Michael J. Pollard and Wolfgang Preiss star in this war comedy adventure directed by Michael Winner. Lance Corporal Stephen 'Hannibal' Brooks (Reed) is a British prisoner of war who is tasked with caring for an elephant called Lucy at a zoo in Munich.
After a bombing raid devastates the zoo the animals and staff are evacuated but when Lucy is not permitted to board the train, Brooks is forced to walk with her to Innsbrook in Austria. During the journey Brooks and his companions hope to flee to Switzerland and they are aided in their efforts by Packy (Pollard), an American escapee. However, Colonel von Haller (Preiss) is determined to prevent them from securing their freedom...
