Cillian Murphy stars in this adaptation of the historical novel by Claire Keegan. Coal merchant Bill Furlong (Murphy) lives in New Ross in Ireland with his wife and five daughters. When he makes a delivery to the local convent, he discovers mistreatment of young girls and decides to do something about it, despite numerous people telling him to forget what he saw.
