Description
Forest Whitaker and James McAvoy star in this drama directed by Kevin Macdonald. When naive young Scottish doctor Nicholas Garrigan (McAvoy) arrives in 1970s Uganda seeking adventure, he soon finds himself on a shocking journey into darkness. Befriended by the country's charismatic new leader Idi Amin (Whitaker) and appointed as his personal physician, Nicholas is originally blinded by Amin's larger-than-life and charming persona.
However, when the terrible truth of Amin's despotic rule becomes clear, Nicholas must fight for both his life and his soul. The cast also includes Kerry Washington, Gillian Anderson and David Oyelowo.
