Description

Double bill of Danish horror thrillers written and directed by Ole Bornedal. When law student Martin Bork (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) takes a job as a night watchman at the Forensic Medicine Institute in Copenhagen, his responsibilities include checking the morgue. Meanwhile, a serial killer is scalping and murdering women in the city.

As Martin and his friend Jens (Kim Bodnia) challenge each other to a series of dares which quickly escalate, strange things begin happening in the morgue and Martin becomes a suspect in the killings. With the lives of those he loves in jeopardy, can he uncover the truth before it's too late? In the sequel 'Nightwatch: Demons Are Forever' (2023) Martin's daughter Emma (Fanny Leander Bornedal), a medical student, begins working as a nightwatch worker in the same place as her father. She hopes it will help her to understand the trauma he experienced years before but when a series of similar murders occur, can she escape the ghosts of her past?
