Description
Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande star in this two-part adaptation of the stage musical directed by Jon M. Chu. In 'Wicked' (2024) Elphaba Thropp (Erivo) sets out on the path that will ultimately lead to her becoming the Wicked Witch of the West.
At Shiz University she meets the popular and endlessly upbeat Glinda (Grande) and the two are forced to become roommates. As Elphaba begins to form a real friendship with Glinda, she becomes aware that there is something very wrong in Oz. However, when she discovers the shocking truth about who is responsible, there will be consequences should she refuse to join them.
In 'Wicked: For Good' (2025) Elphaba, now known as the Wicked Witch of the West, is living as a fugitive while Glinda the Good resides in the palace in the Emerald City. When Madame Morrible (Michelle Yeoh) creates a tornado which transports a house from the human world to Oz, Elphaba's actions in the aftermath lead to the formation of an angry mob intent on stopping her forever. Forced to face the consequences of the choices they have made, Elphaba and Glinda's friendship is tested in painful new ways and the Land of Oz will never be the same.
The cast also includes Jonathan Bailey, Jeff Goldblum and Marissa Bode.
